We are currently looking for a part-time assistant teacher to support our Thursday workshop program, and possibly also teach Study Skills. The position will start as soon as possible. The exact teaching load will vary depending on how the new teachers’ skills fit with our existing staff, but at a minimum will take place on Thursday afternoon, and possibly also Friday morning. Occasional Substitute teaching may also be available. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in teaching to get experience in our creative alternative school. Experience working with students age 10 to 18 and a the ability to engage with students is a must!
Pacem School is an intellectually inspiring, joyful learning community for 10 – 18 year olds. Our students are curious and passionate. We give them time and freedom to pursue their interests while supporting them with an intellectually rich curriculum. We are seeking dedicated professionals who are experts in their subject areas, show strong commitment to our mission, and communicate warmly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. All of our classes are multi-age and multi-level, so the ability to engage students at a variety of levels within a classroom is important.
We are also looking for volunteers to serve on our advisory committees. Currently we are looking to fill positions on the our Finance Committee, Fundraising and Development Committee, and our Facilities Committee. More information about these important groups for our school can be found here.
